Q: Do I need restaurant experience to become a Fat Boy's Pizza franchisee?`
A: Yes, we do require that our franchise partners have restaurant ownership experience or a career in restaurant management with the ability to bring on a financial partner.
Q: How many restaurants do I need to commit to opening?
A: Depends on the market, but we are seeking development markets that can hold at least three Fat Boy's Pizzas?
Q: Do I get to pick my site or do you?
A: Fat Boy's Pizza works with a national real estate firm that specializes in site selection for franchise concepts. We have developed a model based off our customer base and experience to help show which areas of the market would be most suitable for a Fat Boy's Pizza. `From there we drill down to the best area within that market.`
Q: What are your franchise fees?
A: Our franchise fee is $30,000 per restaurant. The royalty rate is 5% and the national production fund is 1%. We do have a technology fee of $400 per month that covers third party apps and management systems.
Q: What does it cost to open a Fat Boy's Pizza restaurant?
A: On average the cost is between $850k - $1.3m. All of this depends on the condition of the leasable space. We typically need between 3,500 - 4,500 sq. footage plus a large exterior patio space.
Q: Do you all offer non-traditional sites?
A: At this time, we are only focused on markets that fit our model. `Non-traditional sites would be looked at on a case-bases.
Q: Are there any franchise opportunities in Texas?
A: Not at this time. We are currently opening company units and not looking to franchise.
Q: What does your training program look like for new franchisees?
A: All general managers, operating partners, and kitchen managers that will be involved in day-to-day operations will need to complete eight weeks of training at one of our company units. Once the restaurant is ready for opening, our training team will show up for two weeks to help support and train. `Several weeks after the opening, we will come back for five days to help tune up any areas to insure success.
